Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a qualified Structural Engineer with a degree and an EIT certification for vertical building design and construction. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience and possess the capability to prepare drawings, perform calculations, and estimate construction costs. The role involves designing buildings using materials such as steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, and requires collaboration with architects, clients, and other professionals. The ability to work independently and manage projects from proposal to construction administration is essential. The position includes occasional site visits and offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including commercial, educational, healthcare, office, retail, and parking structures. Responsibilities + Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates. + Perform construction-related services, including shop drawing reviews, responding to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections. + Collaborate with architects, designers, and building contractors on the design and construction of projects. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD. + 3-7 years of experience in structural engineering. + EIT certification strongly preferred, or a PE license. + Experience with vertical structural projects and materials such as concrete, steel, masonry, and wood. + Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in virtual structural design is advantageous. + Wood design experience is a significant plus. + Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in a related field. Work Environment The position is based in an office environment, requiring attendance five days a week. Flexible start or end times are available to accommodate family schedules.
