(NY is not Compact) ACLS, BLS, NIHSS REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS ======================== Arterial line management, central line care/management, PICC line management, blood product administration Ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation Continuous IV sedation and paralytics, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips CABG, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring CVVHD/CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, infection prevention, PPE use, wound vac care, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING ========================= Ratios: 1:2; Impella nurse ratio 1:2 with occasional 1:1 based on acuity 16 beds with patients that include sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-vad workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white Floating: Will be required to float within skillset HOSPITAL HIGHLIGHTS =================== Rochester General Hospital s CVICU provides expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including heart transplant, advanced cardiac device management (ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, IABP, Impella), and complex multi-organ failure cases. The CVICU features 24/7 provider coverage, a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and strong support for family communication and post-operative rehabilitation.
