SPORTING GOODS SALES ASSOCIATE

Mel's Sport Shop is looking for an energetic, trustworthy, and self-motivated individual to become part of our team. Candidates should be hard-working, honest, reliable, and able to work weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Greet customers in a welcoming manner
• Help customers select products
• Answer customers' questions
• Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Process payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit and debit cards
• Assist with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise
• Work with multiple vendors

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-year experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills to give the team direction
• Previous experience in apparel buying a plus
• Knowledge of hunting and fishing is a plus
• High School diploma or similar
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with other team members in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service

Pay: From $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
