Job Description



AECOM  is seeking a  Senior Document Controller  for one of our offices in  Sacramento, CA.

JOB SUMMARY:

This role will support the end-to-end document control lifecycle for a high-value, complex program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support document control processes from  document creation to final archiving .
  • Provide support of incoming and outgoing documentation, ensuring all records are assigned correct metadata, versioning, and status.
  • Apply and validate metadata against program standards (e.g., Document Numbering, Revision History, Status, Classification, etc.).
  • Help monitor program documentation within a Document Management System (DMS) such as Aconex, SharePoint, TeamBinder, or similar.
  • Support the team on document internal standards, regulatory, and contractual obligations (e.g., ISO 9001, project specs).
  • Prepare and maintain of document registers, metadata reports, and compliance logs.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate metadata logs, version history, and controlled copies.

Qualifications



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree plus 6 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • 8 + years Document control experience on infrastructure, construction, or engineering programs.
  • Experience with full document lifecycle and metadata control across a high-volume document environment.
  • Working knowledge of DMS platforms (e.g., Aconex, Asite, SharePoint, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in metadata entry and validation.
