This Registered Nurse position in a 4-bed ICU/CCU within a Critical Access, Magnet hospital requires a minimum of two years of experience and proficiency in various critical care skills. The role involves providing direct patient care in a 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio, including night shifts and every other weekend. Floating within the unit to meet facility needs is expected.

Responsibilities:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a 4-bed ICU/CCU setting.
- Managing and interpreting cardiac rhythms, including administering cardiac drips and managing dysrhythmias.
- Administering medications, including continuous IV paralytics/sedation, emergency medications, and titrating vasoactive drips.
- Performing advanced technical skills such as arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration.
- Managing respiratory support, including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula.
- Performing and interpreting 12-lead EKGs and ABGs.
- Managing patients with chronic/acute renal failure and multi-system organ failure.
- Utilizing Cerner electronic health records (preferred).
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Adhering to infection prevention and isolation precautions.
- Providing patient education and support.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
- Minimum two years of experience in ICU/CCU setting.
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, medication administration (including continuous infusions), respiratory care, and emergency response.
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, chronic/acute renal failure, and multi-system organ failure.
- Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs.
- Experience with surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Cerner experience.
Special Considerations:
- Night shift (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Floating within the ICU/CCU as needed.
- Up to 36 hours of call-offs allowed per 13-week assignment without pay; additional call-offs will be billed.
- No on-call requirement.
- Maximum 5-day return-to-office (RTO) restriction.
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG. IV insulin protocols experience required. Chronic/Acute Renal failure experience required.
Scheduling:
- Night shift (7:30 PM - 7:30 AM).
- Every other weekend required.
