Job Description

Montclair, NJ(Essex County), family is looking to hire aloving Nanny/Housekeeper who is comfortable with a busy household of 3 boys and 2 dogs. Their oldest son is neurodivergent and they are primarily looking for someone with a background in this area. He has significant anxiety and ADHD and impulse control issues. They need someone who understands him, is able to connect with him, and also help him regulate and set appropriate boundaries. MUST also be aware and comfortable knowing that one of their dogs (Aussie Doodle) can have some challenging behavior around dynamics other than the family. They are working with a dog trainer.

A typical day: The Nanny would start @ 6:30 am to help get the kids up and prepare lunches and breakfasts. Most days mom drives the oldest into Manhattan, and the Nanny will take the younger two kids to school. When the kids are in school, the Nanny would do all the laundry for the family, care for the dogs (take them on a walk or throw the ball to them), tidy up the house when the housekeeper isn’t there, and prepare a very simple dinner for the kids. After school she would do pick up then kids activities, play dates, monitor and help with homework, serve dinner, and help with bedtime – baths/showers and bed. Typically around 8 pm for the youngest and 8:30/9 for the others.

What Works Best for Family:
-Someone very loving, focused on the kids, and bonds with the children.
-Must be comfortable around dogs and caring for dogs.
-Flexibility in role to help around the house and handle the oldest son who can be challenging.
-Must work well with others and get along with the Housekeeper and sitter who have been with the family for a long time.
–The candidate MUST have another residence nearby within a reasonable commute to return to on days off.

About the Family

Adults: 2
Children: 3 Boys: 7, 9, and 11 years old. For the Summer, the middle son will be in sleepaway camp for 2.5 weeks, and the youngest will have activities at the nearby Golf Club.
Dogs: 2, They have an Aussiedoodle who can be "very challenging" around small children and dynamics other than their family. They are working with a trainer. They also have a Goldendoodle.
Current Staff: Part-time Housekeeper, does deep cleaning & a part-time sitter

• Housekeeping:Yes, Shared Housekeeping Required, daily tidy as needed
• Cooking:Yes, Simple meals, breakfast, school lunches, dinner for children
• Laundry:Yes, Family Laundry
• Errands:Yes, As needed
• Driving:Yes,  Required. Car can be available if needed.

Position Requirements

• Work Hours:Monday-Friday, Average 50 hours per week
• Availability to start @ 6:30 am, end at bedtime, typically around 8 pm, sometimes the older boys are down at 8:30/9 pm
• Will consider Live In or Live Out- The candidate MUST have another residence nearby.

Position Compensation

• Salary:$104,000 annually DOE
• Living Accommodations: Live In or Live Out
• Health Insurance:Open to considering a stipend 
• Additional benefits: Open to providing a gym membership for a candidate to utilize 1-2 hours/day
