Job Summary

We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Mammography Technologist. You will provide radiological services to patients as a diagnostic modality.

 

Job Description

  • Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires.
  • Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images, reviewing completed exams for quality, completeness for the type of test ordered.
  • Assists physicians during procedures as necessary.
  • Performs diagnostic and some special procedure medical radiographic images utilizing radiologic assistance
  • Performs equipment Quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supply.
  • Processes film/images or prints CD's if needed.
  • Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking-in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed.
  • Shows radiologist images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communications if necessary (wet readings).
  • May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor.
  • Knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial needs of different patient populations.
  • Knowledge of QC/QA program as mandated by MQSA/FDA guidelines
  • Participates in QA projects and program meetings as assigned.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to BioMed or supervisor.
  • Maintains current registry certification, licensure and education requirements
  • Assists and directs patients in preparation of examination (change into gowns and getting patient on /off examination tables).
  • Applies knowledge of Universal Precautions to minimize exposure to/spread of infectious organisms
  • Complies with Infection Control policies and procedures, fire and medical emergency protocols, administrative policies governing patient abuse, patient rights, and confidentiality of information (HIPAA).
  • Performs other related duties as required, attends staff meetings and in-services.

 

Skills Required

  • Ability to do both x-ray, DEXA and mammography is preferred
  • Continued experience 200 cases in the last 2 years (bare min)
  • Initial training in tomography
  • Outpatient clinic
  • One year Mammo Tech experience

 

Education/Training/Certifications

  • Must hold a valid Radiologic Technologist license issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) and post-primary certification in Mammography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); this licensure is required for all imaging positions. In addition to NYS DOH licensure, a current advanced-level certification in the appropriate modality from ARRT or another nationally recognized certifying body is required. National certification alone is not sufficient without NYS DOH licensure. BLS certification is preferred.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Malpractice Insurance - All Credentialed Providers are required to have active individual Medical Malpractice.
  • Shedule notes: Mondays, 11am - 7pm. Tuesday - Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

 

  Pay Rate

  • $62.50 per hour
