We are looking to expand our team and hire a legal secretary! The position is currently available, and applicants will be considered on a rolling basis.

About Our Team

The Law Offices of Philip W. Gasbarro, Esq. is a small firm based out of North Smithfield, Rhode Island and handles real estate matters in RI and MA. Our office offers direct client interaction, carefully tailored representation, and individualized attention to each client’s matter. This ethos is true not just for our interaction with our clients, but for what it means to our staff as well. Phil founded the firm in 2020 with the goal of forming a transactional law firm that incorporated both a focus on helping clients find practical solutions to their real-world legal needs, with a work environment that promoted personal development through fulfilling work.

About This Job

Our team currently consists of an attorney that founded the firm, a drafting paralegal, and a client experience manager/office manager. The purpose of this job is to primarily assist the client experience manager with onboarding new clients, coordinating with third parties (real estate agents, municipal tax collector departments, etc.), following up on the deliverables needed to close transactions (commission statements, invoices, smoke detector inspection certificates, etc.), and scheduling appointments with clients.

Description of the Right Applicant

The right candidate for this job has the following core skills:

· Personable with excellent professional etiquette

· Comfortable with using phone and email systems to coordinate with parties

· Able to work in-person (no remote work) in a open-office team environment

· Willing to learn and take direction from other team members

· Has an excellent attention to detail, including proficient note-taking skills

· A good sense of personal responsibility, integrity, and follow-through

No prior legal experience or specific credentials are required, but you must be able to demonstrate that you’re ready to handle files, take initiative, follow checklists, and keep matters organized.

This may be an excellent opportunity for someone that isn’t interested in a “traditional” law-firm environment, but still has an appreciation for doing good work with a close-knit team, and wants opportunities to grow and learn.

Further Offer Details

Starting pay at $24.50 hourly plus benefits

Flexible hours and either part time or full time available

Clean BCI report required at start of employment

Pay: From $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
