Job Description

Human Resources Assistant [5522]

DC-based research and advocacy group seeks a temporary Human Resources Assistant to support the administration of HR initiatives and processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruiting efforts by creating job postings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Support administration of benefits, including new hire and open enrollment.
  • Maintain and update employee records.
  • Assist with payroll functions by fixing processing errors and distributing checks.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries from employees.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Other general HR and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Exercise good judgement given minimal direction.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
  • Basic understanding of HR policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous human resources experience.

Rate: $23-$25 per hour (DOE).
