We are currently seeking a full-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning center at  GradePower Learning Palm Harbor . This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching the ins and outs of language, math, among other subjects and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Work guaranteed hours, 9:15am - 1:15pm, Monday to Friday, with our Homeschool Day Academy and then flexible hours tutoring core subjects and/or SAT/ACT in the afternoon (up to 20+ additional hours).

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning  have minimal  lesson planning before class, no grading, and GradePower Learning administration manages the reelationship with parents. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, and this is a role that enables teachers to do what they do best, teach!

Opportunities for administrative hours as well for the right candidate. These tasks include reviewing curriculum plans, communicating with parents, and assessing new students. 

Position Requirements:

Teacher-Tutors at GradePower Learning work Mon - Fri (9:15am - 1:15pm) and optional portions of after-school and evening hours Mon - Fri (3:00pm - 7:00pm). Choose the number of afternoons you work. A commitment until the end of the term in December is preferred. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must!

Applicants with upper division math and science expertise and who scored well on the SAT/ACT will be trained to coach SAT/ACT Prep program ($20/hour).

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in college/university
• Teaching certification an asset

Experience :

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a first to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is preferred
• SAT/ACT tutoring experience an asset
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to six students at a time

Responsibilities (Position Details):

You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:

• Teaching up to 6 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching is in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times

Job Type : Full or Part-Time (Hourly)

Salary : $16 - $20 / hour

Schedule:

• Mon - Fri (9:15am - 1:15pm) and optional portions of after-school and evening hours Mon - Fri (3:00pm - 7:00pm)
• Saturday morning optional, not required
