Pay Range: $91,472 - $129,204 Annual

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Emergency Management Specialist will assist the Emergency Management Director and Emergency Management Assistant Director with RWJBH affiliate support related to planning, training, exercising, logistics and regulatory surveys. 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration or other closely related degree.
  • Must have demonstrated experience delivering educational/instructional programs.
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years full-time Emergency Management experience.
  • Applicants who lack the required education may substitute additional field or management experience as indicated on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred:

  • NJ Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or IAEM (CEM) or FEMA Emergency Management Basic Academy preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
  • NJ Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or IAEM (CEM) or FEMA Emergency Management Basic Academy preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid AHA CPR/SAED for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Hazardous Materials Awareness (Instructor preferred)
  • Hazardous Materials Operations (Instructor preferred)
  • Incident Command System I-100 through I-200 upon hire. ICS I-200 Instructor within first year of hire.
  • Incident Command System I-300 through I-400 withing first year of hire. (Instructor preferred)
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) I-700 and I-800
  • Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) within six months of hire.

  • 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Monday - Friday
  • Full Time
  • In Person

Special Skills:

  • Data analysis and data synthesis
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams and virtual meeting and communication tools.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire remote teams
  • Significant collaboration capabilities including experience working with Human Resources, Security, IT, Communications and other critical internal stakeholders
  • Change management and people leadership skills
  • Personal and professional standards of integrity and compassion
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in use of specialized equipment and all procedures applicable to Emergency Management.
  • Incident Management software applications

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze data and provide data synthesis
  • Significant collaboration with Human Resources, Security, IT, Communications and other critical internal stakeholders
  • Providing education, training, policy development and ensuring compliance with standards
  • Developing and facilitating emergency operations, outreach and logistics
