CPA Staff Accountant (Accounting Firm Experience Required) Location Laguna Hills, CA :

Staff Accountant

Duties:We are a competitive and fast growing accounting firm seeking a Staff Accountant In Office (Laguna Hills, CA) with a minimum of 3-4 years experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Record financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Works with 20-40 clients/ month.
• Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, 401k, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
• Monitor financial transactions and reports.
• Adjusting Journal Entries
• Complete Financial Statements and Balance Sheet for 20-40 clients/month.
• Process accounts receivable and payable.
• Process checks.
• Understand ledgers.
• Work with an accountant when necessary.
• Handle monthly payroll using accounting software.
• Maintain and record a complete and systematic set of business transactions.
• Reports to the accounting manager and provides all reports for review.
• Inform clients of important paperwork and documentation needed to complete monthly bookkeeping needs.
• Ability to close the books for the end of the month/quarter.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree Accounting preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 3-4 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a business-services environment.
• Able to prepare, review and understand financial statements, balance sheet, and income statements.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Quickbooks Online accounting software.
• Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Experience managing business paperwork and accounting for a large company.
• Professional understanding of the best accounting strategies and advanced mathematical skills.
• Must pass a background screening check and drug test.
