Compliance Environmental Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the regulatory compliance for emissions compliance related requirements, which includes delegated assembly contracts, monthly reports, annual affidavits and related documents.
· Collect, review and process monthly reports and annual reports from OEMs, Distributors and Captive companies.
· Provide guidance and education to distributors on the compliance system, monthly reporting data collection as well as interpretation and compliance policies
· Work with distributors and OEMs on daily basis for continuous improvement on their knowledge and awareness of emission compliance topics, reporting, tracking requirements
· Responsible for exempt engines management such as Test Exempt, Replacement, Export, NSE etc. Tracking and reporting per EPA’s requirements.
· Process Chemical and Material compliance inquiries from customers.
· Coordinate with related departments and suppliers to obtain disclosures for customers.
· Support department in reporting and record keeping for the agencies.
· Assist in researching various chemical regulations, product safety regulations and related compliance requirements.
· Process various emission label requests from customers and record proper evidence.
· Process customer’s requests for MSHA kits and track them for agency audits
· Review emissions data requests from customers and submit to Japan for processing.
· Attain compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues;
· Provide support coordinating and participate in the Compliance Workshop and present the required compliance presentations to the audience as required.
· Prepare and publish emission compliance bulletins
· Provide data to the manager when requested for quarterly and annual reporting to agencies
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Associates Degree in Automotive Technology or related field or currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program
· 3 – 5 years’ experience with off-road industrial gasoline and/or diesel engines
· Broad knowledge of environmental topics is preferred but not required ( EPA 40CFR, 13CCR and ECCC regulations)
· Knowledge of Compression Ignition and Spark Ignition engines
· Broad understanding of the EPA TSCA, Canada Prop 65, Canada TSCA and EU REACH, RoHS and related regulations.
· Basic knowledge of engineering concepts
· Ability to read, understand and prepare technical bulletins and documents
· Working knowledge of SAP is preferred but not required
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
· Ability to travel less than 20%, possibly on last minute notice
